Dom Felix NEC Rookie Of The Month

SOMERSET, NJ – The Sacred Heart University women's volleyball team picked up a pair of honors from the Northeast Conference. Sophomore Reghan Palanchi was named Defensive Player of the Month and Dominique Felix garnered Rookie of the Month as announced by the league office.

It's the first honor for either player and the first by a Pioneer since Sarah Ciszek picked up Player of the Week on October 28, 2019. Bryant's Caroline Kenned was named Player of the Week.

In four matches, Palanchi averaged 1.47 blocks per set and 1.87 kills per set. In the win over Albany, the Succasunna, NJ native had eight blocks and six kills with a .364 hitting percentage. Over the weekend at Seton Hall, she notched nine kills and four blocks.

During her first collegiate matches, Felix produced 2.27 kills and 3.13 digs per set. Her best match was a 14-kill, 14-dig double-double versus Seton Hall. The Pittsburgh, Pa. native recorded 21 digs in the opening game against Albany. Felix had seven kills versus the Great Danes as well as St. John's.

Sacred Heart starts conference action on Tuesday when it hosts Central Connecticut State at 2 p.m. for a pair of matches.
