Christian DePolo
Coach
EXPERIENCE
I played as a middle at Butler Area High School and intended to continue my playing career in college; however, tearing both of my labrums disrupted that plan. For the past four years, I have been coaching club and recreational volleyball for youth. Previously, I served as the clinician and head coach for USVL in South Fayette, and I currently work as the Youth & Family Director at the Greater Pittsburgh YMCA Association.
PHILOSOPHY
As a coach, my philosophy revolves around creating a positive, challenging, and inclusive environment where every player has the opportunity to grow, learn, and reach their fullest potential—both on and off the court. I believe volleyball is more than just a sport; it's a platform for developing valuable life skills such as teamwork, perseverance, discipline, and confidence.
WHAT I BRING TO THE GYM
I bring my fun personality to the gym and make every moment a chance to love the sport. You might catch me dancing or singing on the bench.
WHEN I'M NOT COACHING VOLLEYBALL
When I'm not coaching volleyball I am coaching or playing pickleball and review local coffee shops. Thrifting and spending time with friends and family is always something I look forward to when not at the gym.
SOMETHING YOU PROBABLY DON'T KNOW ABOUT ME
My whole family grew up as competitive Figure Skaters. I always say I get my High vertical from my time on the Ice.
