EXPERIENCE
I began my coaching career 19 years ago on the same court in Bridgeport, PA where, at nine years old, I first fell in love with volleyball. Since then, I've led successful club, high school, and middle school teams in the Philadelphia, western Montana, and Pittsburgh areas. These successes are measured by the championships won, but also by the athletes who achieved their goals, made their middle, high school, or collegiate program, and who continued on with a lifelong passion for the game.
Beyond coaching, I've spent the last decade and a half working to grow both competitive travel and local volleyball in the Pittsburgh area through grassroots programs and by providing leadership to area organizations. I previously served as Executive Director for a 36 team non-profit organization, grew a brand new club to 19 teams in 3 years, and have launched multiple, community-based leagues and training opportunities, like Learn to Play and Renaissance's Rec League to provide quality experiences for all of our Pittsburgh athletes.
PHILOSOPHY
All athletes, regardless of where they are in their career, can learn and improve with focused skill development and an enhanced understanding of volleyball strategy. Sports are just one piece of a full life.
WHAT I BRING TO THE GYM
Respect and honesty. Focused skill work hidden inside fun and competitive drills.
WHEN I'M NOT COACHING VOLLEYBALL
I'm enjoying time outside with my family.
SOMETHING YOU PROBABLY DON'T KNOW ABOUT ME
I'm a professionally trained field archaeologist and cartographer.
